Welcome from Our Scoutmaster

Welcome to Troop 87 in Roswell, Georgia, where boys find fun and adventure "On The Eagle Trail!" Our website is designed to be a resource for information regarding the Troop's activities, members, and policies. It also showcases our rich history of fun and community involvement. Troop 87 was chartered in 1952 and has served Roswell youth through a variety of leadership opportunities and outdoor adventure. Our Vision is a thriving, exciting Troop that safely provides an avenue for the development of leadership skills, self reliance, citizenship, character, and integrity through a youth-led experience of high-adventure, fun, reverence, and service to others.

How to Join: Signing up starts with a visit! We would be happy for you to come see if we are the right Troop for you. Use our Contact Us page to send us a request for more information, or feel free to visit us at the Scout Hut for one of our weekly meetings Monday at 7:30 pm. All boys 6th Grade through age 18 are welcome, no prior scouting experience is required!

Troop Location: Meetings are held at the Scout Hut behind the Roswell First Baptist Church parking lot at 710 Mimosa Blvd., Roswell, Georgia (map).

Upcoming Events For Webelos: Find out more about Troop 87 by visiting a weekly meeting or Contacting Us. Our leaders and scouts would be honored to visit your Pack or Den meeting to show your Webelos what Boy Scouts at Troop 87 is all about! We will also hold several OPEN HOUSE events in early 2022 with grilled food, camping demos, backpacking demo, scouting skills, and fun (did someone say zip-line?). Webelos, come see where your next step in your scouting journey can take you at our newly renovated Scout Hut!

Troop 87 serves the youth of the Roswell/Alpharetta/Milton/Marietta area by helping boys learn and live the Scout Oath and Scout Law while having fun in a “high-adventure” Boy Scout troop. The Troop is youth-led with the adults in the Troop providing the support necessary to implement the calendar the Scouts decide upon. We believe in providing scouts with active, “hands-on” life experiences that focus on the outdoors, our community, and leadership skills.

Posted by sbastek on Mar 15 2023 - 2:40pm

Please attend a parent and scout meeting discussing summer camp prep on Monday March 20th at the Scout Hut! This is an important annual meeting to update parents on all things Troop 87, along with critical updates for our staple outings this year! Summer camp at Woodruff Scout Camp is taking place June 4th-10th and we are fast approaching registration deadlines and the opening of merit badge registration. Please register your boys asap so we know who is planning to attend. Summer camp is a great way to get a lot of merit badge and advancement work done in one week, plus it allows the scouts a lot of independence in a structured environment. We will require a $150 deposit by March 27th to secure your spot! Here is what will be covered at this meeting:
